Document Review Team Lead — Washington, DC

Lead a calibrated review team on complex matters — second requests, investigations, breach, and foreign-language reviews. Hybrid; two days on-site at our DC center.

About the role.

Team leads are the link between the review floor and the delivery lead. You run the day-to-day: workflow, protocol questions, QC, and the call on edge cases before they reach the client. You work hand in glove with a senior delivery lead on engagements from second requests to breach and foreign-language reviews, and you set the team’s quality bar.

What you’ll do.

  • Lead a review team of 8–25 attorneys through the full lifecycle — kickoff, ramp, steady state, closeout.
  • Own protocol integrity — coding, privilege, redaction, edge cases — and escalate cleanly when needed.
  • Coordinate with the delivery lead on staffing, throughput, and quality; flag risks before they become deadline problems.
  • Run QC passes — sample, validate, coach reviewers, and feed trends back into protocol.
  • Communicate with the client in writing and on calls when delegated — clearly, in their vernacular.
  • Onboard and offboard reviewers as the matter ramps.

What you bring.

  • 1+ year as a team lead on document-review matters.
  • Working command of e-discovery and the major platforms — Relativity, Reveal, or DISCO.
  • A track record on prior engagements, with references we can speak to.
  • Calm under deadline, direct in writing, comfortable in front of senior counsel.
  • JD preferred; bar admission a plus, especially DC, MD, or VA.
